Established in 1949, the Department of Biostatistics, recently renamed Biostatistics and Health Data Science, was one of the original four departments of the School of Public Health. It consistently maintains its status as a top-tier biostatistics department across the nation and leads the way in data-driven science through innovative methodologies, interdisciplinary collaboration, and impactful education. The department educates the next generation of leaders in biostatistics and health data science, providing opportunities for close engagement with award-winning faculty and practical training across a diverse spectrum of research areas. It hosts vibrant MS and PhD programs, presently accommodating approximately 40 PhD students and 35 MS students. Graduates of our programs hold positions at major academic institutions, government agencies, and prominent industries.
