Early Career Workshop Series
ENAR is excited to host the Early Career Workshop Series (ECWS), an innovative hybrid professional development program created specifically for early-career professionals. This is based on the previously hosted Junior Researchers Workshop, but with a new, modern, hybrid format. We are looking for participants in four different areas: industry, government, academia methodology researcher, and academia team scientist collaborator.
At the ENAR 2027 Spring Meeting (March 14th-17th, 2027), this year's cohort will attend three workshop-specific sessions. The workshop will also include a shared cohort meal and registration for one short course, tutorial, or roundtable. After the ENAR 2027 Spring Meeting, the cohort will participate in virtual sessions over the next year (with some potentially being area-specific) covering content related to career development, communication and influence, networking and mentorship, leadership and collaboration, and research funding.
We are very excited to offer this opportunity for our early career ENAR members and to continue building the ENAR community!
Eligibility (applicants must meet all the criteria below):
- Early career individual who has received a terminal degree (Master's or doctoral) or completed a post-doc between 2024 and 2027
- Currently in a non-trainee job or beginning a new job by the ENAR 2027 Spring Meeting
- Has funding to attend the ENAR 2027 Spring Meeting in person (registration fees and lodging for the ENAR 2027 Spring Meeting will not be covered by this workshop)
- Has funding for workshop tuition ($500; tuition waivers are available based on demonstrated need)
- Able to attend all workshop-specific programming during the ENAR 2027 Spring Meeting
- Committed to attending the virtual sessions (~3-6) after the ENAR 2027 Spring Meeting
- Remain an ENAR member in good standing throughout the duration of the workshop
Workshop Tuition*:
The cost of participation in this workshop is $500 and includes:
- Three in-person workshop-specific sessions at the ENAR 2027 Spring Meeting
- One short course, tutorial, or roundtable of your choosing at the ENAR 2027 Spring Meeting
- A shared cohort meal
- Access to ~3-6 virtual sessions, including track-specific sessions, to be held between the ENAR 2027 and 2028 Spring Meetings
*Financial hardship assistance can be requested on the ECWS Registration Form. Tuition waivers will automatically be granted for government employees.
