This session will feature a fireside chat with currently serving Deans of schools of public health and medicine, who are not trained as biostatisticians, and thus have an outsider's view on Biostatistics about the role and future of Biostatistics in shaping the future of public health and biomedicine. The session will start with structured opening remarks from the panelists about their view and experience with Biostatistics and Biostatisticians followed by a Q&A portion where ENAR president Bhramar Mukherjee will be asking the panelists to share their thoughts on a range of topics influencing our profession, including but not limited to: optimal ways of teaching Biostatistics in an AI-augmented era, rewarding and incentivizing community collaborations in Biostatistics, how can Biostatisticians be more integrated with the ethos and culture of the school, how can quantitative scholars better engage in broader science and what they think of Biostatisticians as leaders in public health. Ample time will be left for the audience to submit and ask questions.
